About Pro Liberty and MCQ Surfboards

Pro Liberty Surfboards have been manufactured in Edinburgh scotland since 96' having opened up momentum surf shop at the same time it was evident there was a need for some clear, honest direction for the surfers in and around the s.east of scotland,having been well established for several years the decission was made to re-locate to the coast and now momentum has gone .com so as to allow pro liberty and MCQ  surfboards continual global growth!...

With a clothing line available on line and in some selected shops along with boards.

The 'MCQ' came form my second name McQueenie and whilst chris noble (sponsored surfer) enjoyed the mag shots and media coveridge the pro liberty running man logo was getting 'lost' and so a bigger clearer logo was needed MCQ and has had since stuck!  Featured in 'Cold rush' and 'The elusive' films, I also shape under the 'S.G.S.'  Banff and 'Local Soul'  Machrihanish labels.

Over the first few years I had some glassers and finishers pass thru and together we perfected the right formula for finishing the boards off to the standard that has been proven again and again, recently welcoming Wayne Webster from Webster Boards Aus, shaper for local motion all over the world.  Wayne now back in Scotland for the foreseable future pending on another call from Hawaii for winter work like last year, we are hoping to develop u.v glassing so as to keep up the winter laminating process running smoothly.
